Showcation | Design Intern
This is a current internship at Showcation, a summer camp themed music and arts festival. Primary UX responsibilities include evaluating the existing website for usability and implementing recommendations. As this internship continues, additional content will be added.

Rye is a tech startup building API to redefine e-commerce so that it is easy, open, and programmatic. I developed a dropshipping store builder to conceptualize an additional use-case for their API.

Bridge is a mobile app prototype that connects remote coworkers for in person networking, problem solving and community building. I lead a team of 2 to design the high-fidelity prototype of this web app, coded in HTML/CSS and JavaScript.

Pitcher | App High-Fidelity Prototype
Pitcher is a high-fidelity prototype of a happy hour app for the East Village, NYC. Pitcher helps users find the most up-to-date happy hour information, suggest edits to inaccurate information, and get exclusive access to premium happy hour deals.

Repose | Heuristic Evaluation
This heuristic evaluation was done for the website of manhattan-based therapy practice, Repose. After assessing the usability of the website, suggestions for improvement of visual and content design were made.

Laura Newson is a UX and visual designer originally from Canada and currently living in New York.
Laura Newson is a designer and multi-talented career transitioner who graduated recently from New York University.
She is passionate about connecting the big picture and minute details to create synergistic, easy-to use products. She brings projects from conception to execution and believes that successful projects are a marriage of listening, team work, and impeccable attention to detail. Fascinated by the human relationship to technology, Laura designs user experiences that make this relationship easier, intuitive, and more enjoyable.
When she is not working, she enjoys cooking (did you know she went to cooking school?), spending time outdoors, sewing costumes, and going to music festivals.
